CALL 911 for FIRE, AMBULANCE OR POLICE EMERGENCY
ALBERTON VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT:
Fire Chief: Sandy Haneyl
Deputy Chief: Willie Cole
Membership: 20 volunteers
Equipment: Tanker truck, pumper truck, rescue van and auto extrication equipment
Conducts annual smoke detector testing and public education & awareness
Participates in Mutual Aid and Mutual Assistance with municipal fire departments across the Rainy River District
ALBERTON NON-RESIDENT LIBRARY FEE REIMBURSEMENT PROGRAM:
Effective with the 2006 calendar year, Council implemented this program which permits each household in Alberton to be reimbursed for the non-resident fee which it pays to the Fort Frances Public Library. Original receipts must be provided to the Alberton Municipal Office and Council must approve all reimbursements by resolution. Reimbursements are put before Council at its regular meeting each month and are paid out with month end payables at the end of the month in which reimbursement was approved.
WASTE DISPOSAL:
Waste collection services are not provided by the Township; however, private weekly collection service can be arranged directly with Asselin Transportation Ltd.
Alberton residents are permitted to dispose of their waste directly at the Fort Frances Landfill Site under an agreement with Fort Frances - check the Town of Fort Frances' website for current tipping fees.

24 hour land ambulance service is provided 7 days a week by qualified paramedics through Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc.
